After many years working in a variety of media including drawing and book arts, I turned in 2010 to a focus on printmaking.
My intent is to create evocative imagery existing somewhere between the real and the imaginary. My subject matter comes from nature and ranges from the microscopic to the figurative. Recognizable images may exist alongside ambiguous organic forms in worlds that can be both beautiful and slightly sinister.
My process involves building layers using a combination of intaglio plates, painting on plexiglass and collaging. Because of the intricacy of this layering, I work primarily in monoprints or small series of related prints.
